Current IT systems compose of many elements: network hardware, operating systems, database servers and application servers. Effective security management of all the hardware and software configuration constitutes a challenge.
Development of internal standards for secure configuration of an IT system’s respective components constitutes a good solution to this problem. Having a set of written rules on hardening allows to achieve the assumed security level and to control whether the rules are being followed.
