AEO – Information security

Obtaining a status of an Authorised Economic Operator enables simplification of customs procedures in the EU member states.logo AEO

A considerable part of the requirements that need to be fulfilled by an AEO relates to information security. For subjects applying for the AEO status our company offers services connected with security controls assessment and design, including:

  • security testing, especially penetration tests, i.e. "conducting a simulated hacking into the system", as suggested by the AEO Self-assessment Form in the subsection 3.05.
  • IT security assessment/audit, adjusted to the requirements for the AEO as defined in the executive regulation. Such an assessment may especially cover the following issues: protection of computer systems, control of access to systems, backup copies, archiving, procedures in case of emergencies and unpredictable events (disaster recovery planning), physical and technical security controls, security clearance, security procedures.

All our services are adapted to individual Clients, and especially to the type and size of economic activity. Our security assessments may be supplemented with an analysis of gaps that need to be eliminated in order to achieve compliance with the AEO requirements.

Note: Pursuant to the Commission Regulation (EC) No 1875/2006, "the issuing customs authority may accept conclusions provided by an expert in the relevant fields referred to in Articles 14i, 14j and 14k in respect of the conditions and criteria referred to in those Articles respectively" (Article 14 n (2)).
